Daylily Spring Clean Up | Garden Hike

It's that time of year again - time to clean up your Daylilies! After winter, all the top portion of your daylily plant is dead and needs to be removed. This debris should be removed for a neater looking garden and allow the new growth to quickly emerge. The tissue will be dry and brittle so it usually pulls off easily with your hands. You may also need to use a shears or hand pruner. All the dead tissue can be used for compost - so you're doing double duty by getting your garden ready for spring AND helping out the environment!

Learn how to clean up your Daylily plants after winter and prepare them for a successful growing season.

So now that you know how to properly clean up your Daylilies, it's time to get out there and get started! And don't forget - once you're done, sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  A beautiful garden is a great reward for all your hard work! Thanks for reading, and happy gardening!
