Potentilla shrubs look their best with a light annual shearing, generally around 6-8 inches, and preferably before they break dormancy. Pruning stimulates new growth, which yields thick, fresh foliage and a flurry of bright flowers. I’ve included two short videos showing the pruning process and results. Enjoy.
