Emerald Carousel Barberry Rejuvenation Pruning
If you are looking for a beautiful shrub that will bring color to your garden in all four seasons, the Emerald Carousel Barberry is a great choice! This shrub has lovely yellow flowers in the spring, pleasant green foliage in the summer, orange and red foliage in the fall, and red berries that last through the winter. It is also a popular food source for birds.

Rejuvenation Progression From Late Winter Through Fall
Barberry shrubs are popular because they come in many different varieties. You can find them with red foliage, yellow foliage, or a mix of both. They also come in many different sizes, ranging from 12 inches to 4 feet.
If you're thinking of rejuvenating your Barberry shrubs, I would only do it to the larger varieties. The smaller dwarf varieties would best benefit from a light shearing each spring before bud break. This will help stimulate new growth for best leaf color and help them look their best.
