Agapanthus (Lily Of The Nile): Showy in Planters, Great for Cut Flowers and Mass Plantings

Agapanthus, also known as Lily Of The Nile, is a beautiful flower that can be used in a variety of ways. Its showy blooms make it perfect for use in planters (and covering stumps as you'll see in the video) and make a stunning display in mass plantings. Agapanthus is also great for cut flower vases, adding an exotic look to any bouquet.
While not hardy in my area, I’ve successfully overwintered many plants in my garage each year, which I keep at about 40 F. At the recommendation of my representative from Monrovia Nursery, I’m keeping the Agapanthus in their pot since they will flower longer in a root-bound condition. Eventually, they will start declining in the pots, but I hope to get at least five growing seasons out of them before that happens. This video shows the process of assembling the container show below. Enjoy.
My wife and I also planted several in a flower bed, in the ground, to compare the difference to our container. We enjoyed the container more overall.
